Karachi, June 25, 2014: K-Electric has said that joint teams of KE and FIA supported by Police and accompanied by EIK representative have conducted another successful raid after having caught a site involved in electricity theft. The teams checked this site which had a water hydrant and boring system located at 62 Ghausia Colony Nishter Road in the Garden area. This site was involved in stealing electricity worth millions of rupees.
During this raid, the teams discovered that the consumer had illegally laid an enhanced cable and was using a converter switch for alternatively shifting the load on direct use instead of the meter. The cable has been removed and electricity is disconnected from the site whereas few arrests were also made by the FIA.
KE along with FIA has been conducting an anti-theft drive all over Karachi so that electricity theft can be controlled. The reprehensive exercise will help curtail electricity theft and ensure more fair and equal distribution of electricity to the citizens of Karachi.
