Influential water tanker body manufacturer raided in Shireen Jinnah along with a Water Filter plant, 2 Restaurants & Schools in Johar and Shah Faisal
Karachi, June 12, 2015: Raids continue throughout the city and KE’s teams along with Rangers, Police and the FIA has started conducting night-raids as well so as to catch most of these electricity thieves red-handed.
According to details released by K-Electric, almost 40 raids were conducted in the areas of Clifton, Baldia, Johar, Korangi, Shah Faisal, Baldia, Korangi, Bahadurabad, North Nazimabad, North Karachi, amongst others.
6,000 illegal connections were removed which is no small feat. A few markets were raided in Baldia where culprits were caught red-handed, using electricity illegally. A massive Kunda-removal drive took place in Shershah where more than 105 KG of illegal connection was removed. In the areas of Garden, Tipu Sultan, Shah Faisal and Sadr, night raids continued against commercial and residential users. Shah Faisal’s major restaurant ‘Peshawari Hotel’ was raided during late hours because it was using electricity through an illegal connection. Another restaurant in the same vicinity named Bismillah Pakwan was also raided along with an Ice Cream Parlor and penalized.
A Tanker-Body manufacturer was raided in the area of Shireen Jinnah Colony and heavy machinery was in place, using electricity through illegal means. 4 FIRs were lodged in the areas of Johar, Gadap, Korangi and Shah Faisal. In Johar a Snooker Club, a Water Filter Plant, a Guider’s Academy and Taqwat Ul Islam School were raided and caught using an illegal connection. Another massive Kunda operation was conducted in Sukhya Goth, Saifal Goth and Gabol Mansion and hundreds of illegal connections were pulled down whereas action was taken against those involved.
