Operation Burq – Over 4,000 illegal connections pulled down, FIRs and arrests made

Residential and Major Commercial defaulters along with a Motorcycle Dealer and Beauty Parlor raided and penalised – KE Spokesman

Karachi, May 27, 2015: Operation Burq continues in different parts of the city and KE’s team along with the law-enforcing agencies raided different spots where defaults and theft were caught.

As per details more than 20 different areas were raided in which, Orangi, Baldia, SITE, Garden, Bahadurabad, Sadr, Korangi, Johar, Malir, Landhi, FB Area, Surjani were included.

Almost 4,020 illegal connections were pulled down and disconnected and the weight of these illegal connections was around 2,000 KG. Discrepancy was found in different areas and a beauty parlor was raided in Gulistan-e-Johar which was involved in theft and default. The law-enforcing agencies apprehended the involved and investigation had commenced. In another raid a motorcycle dealer who continued to default previously was also visited by the LEAs and stern action was taken.

KE would once again plea to its good customers to step up and play their role and help the power utility in ending the menace of illegal usage of electricity.
