Karachi, June 17, 2015: K-Electric released information detailing the ongoing Burq campaign targeting heavy defaulters and thieves from all pockets of the city. According to these details KE along with the FIA and Rangers confiscated more than 3,600 Kundas (illegal connection) weighting more than 1000 KGs. More than 2500 illegal connections were pulled down in the areas of Lyari, Surjani, Nazimabad.

In one of the raids KE Burq Force teams disconnected a Multistory Building in Aurangabad Nazimabad Area where no meter at site and 24.34KW Load was used through KUNDA (illegal Connection). 3 Multistory Buildings (Pak Avenue, Rufi Green City, Noman Grand City) are also disconnected against more than Rs 20 Million Dues in Gulistan e Johar. Falak Naz Meados a residential Project was caught red-handed involved in power theft in the vicinity of memon Goth Area. 8 PMTS are disconnected in Korangi on heavy defaults and electricity theft. A fast food restaurant (Rolls & Rolls) raided in Malir Saudabad area caught red-handed involved in electricity theft.

During another raid conducted at night, KE’s Operation Burq team vigilantly disconnected the 38 Chronic commercial defaulters and electricity thieves in the areas of sadr. Internet Café, Hotels, Crockery item shops were raided in Lyari and on the spot Payments were seen from culprits.

In addition to these raids and in continuation of ongoing “Operation Burq” against non-payers and electricity theft, IBC-Gulshan, arranged a Flag March activity on Tuesday.
