Karachi, 11th March 2014: K-Electric has come out with its press statement in which it has categorically denied KWSB’s reports which said that there was a major breakdown at the pumping stations due to which water supply to Karachi has been badly affected.
Giving some details spokesman KE said that all the feeders connected to pumping stations are normal. Previously a load drop occurred at one of the pumping stations but KE would like to clarify that the load drop occurred due to KWSB’s own maintenance work and the drop had nothing to do with KE’s supply.
KWSB who is also a defaulter of PKR 27 Billion, as always has exaggerated the situation and stopped its water supply to Karachi using the breakdown as an excuse. KE would also ask its media friends to investigate themselves as to why KWSB’s incompetence is kept hidden by many. KWSB blatantly lies about outages everyday now and putting their incompetence on others.
K-Electric’s press statement had previously put forward a question for the media community as well, that why is it that water-board’s network usually breaks down and fails to provide water to the citizens of Karachi, whereas on the other hand illegal water hydrants run their operations freely and 24/7, through tankers who are constantly busy supplying water in all parts of Karachi, including posh areas?
This simply states that the supply and distribution network of these illegal hydrants is far superior to that of the water board irrespective of the funds it gets through the federal and provincial budgets which is why the people of Karachi are mostly dependant on water tankers.
