Power Shutdown of 4 Hrs in different areas on Sunday: Repair of 220 KV Circuit Underway

Karachi – 20th June, 2014: K-Electric (KE) in its press statement has announced that certain areas of Karachi will experience power shutdown of up to 4 hours on the 22nd of June, from 6am to 10 am. Apart from the 3 hour outage, the low loss feeders of these areas which were previously exempted from load shedding will face two hours, Medium Loss, High Loss and Very High Loss areas will face an extra half an hr of LS of load-shed, this Sunday only.

This maintenance work is carried out due to the recent EHT tripping which caused interruption to 12 Grid Stations. This will improve the reliability of KE transmission network and will counter unexpected power outages.

Grids that will be affected due to this shutdown supply power to Saddar, DHA, Clifton, Gizri, Korangi Road, Qayyumabad and some parts of Garden, PECHS, Jacoblines, Gurumandir, Lines Area.

KE’s management sincerely apologizes to its customers in advance for this inconvenience and urge for co-operation.
