When I was a final year Electrical Engineering student, my internship at KE proved to be highly valuable. After three years of detailed theoretical studies, it felt great to have exposure to the real world of power systems. Not only was I able to learn about the functioning of the different components of a grid station, but I also got a sense of the work that is done to fix major breakdowns in Karachi. All these skills, experience and knowledge greatly helped me along the way and today, by the Grace of Almighty Allah, I am working as a Trainee Engineer in KE’s Smart Grid Department.
ACCA/ICAEW Trainee Programme
Since its inception in 2007, the ACCA (Association of Certified Chartered Accountants) Trainee Program at K-Electric has tapped young and dynamic talent, developing them into a pool of thoroughly qualified professionals. Our Trainees get accustomed to a variety of operational settings, which allows them to acquire job-related skills as well as knowledge and build relationships with our management and their peers.
ACCA students/affiliates can choose between the following functions:
KE was awarded a certificate as a Gold Category Employer by the ACCA in June 2010. The award symbolises the company’s attainment of best practice standards relating to the development of students aspiring for professional qualifications.
The Apprenticeship Programme is a platform for all the technical resources to garner their experience in our core functions: Distribution, Generation and Transmission. This is a one-year programme, in which all our apprentices are evaluated on a quarterly basis. Top apprentices may be considered for a job opening at KE subject to business requirements.
