Karachi – August 11, 2017: K-Electric, under its sustainability initiative, organized a fun-filled day for the students of Deaf Reach School and Training Centre in Gulistan-e-Jauher.

The school has been set up by the Family Education Services Foundation (FESF) and teaches vocational skills to children, teenagers and young adults – empowering them to become self-sufficient. Courses being taught at the school are specially designed to meet specific academic and vocational needs of hearing-impaired students.

During KE’s team visit at the school, the students were engaged through various recreational activities besides distribution of Independence Day gifts. Earlier in the day, a flag hoisting ceremony as well as tree plantation activity was also conducted.

Per KE spokesperson, “The learning environment provided to the students by School’s management will enable them in achieving their ambitions. KE, under its Social Investment Programme (SIP), partnered with FESF in 2015 for the provision of free of cost electricity and we will continue to extend our full support so that the school can continue to empower the hearing-impaired students.”

The power utility reaches around 3.9 million lives annually with initiatives like provision of free or subsidized electricity to key major healthcare and welfare organizations besides creating various powerful platforms to engage the youth in healthy activities be it sporting events, providing them professional exposure and encouraging students’ initiatives.
