Karachi, October 01, 2024: K-Electric (KE) has launched another pioneering initiative in the form of KE Star Rewards, in recognition of its customers who make on-time bill payments. This initiative aims to strengthen the relationships and ease the economic strain on customers through an easy-to-use redeemable rewards program.
Amid current economic conditions, citizens are seeking more opportunities to save on their expenses and manage utilities. In such times, any relief, or incentive, can provide much-needed relaxation and help bridge the gap between customers and utility providers. In line with KE’s commitment to give back to the communities in which it operates, this loyalty program is a first to mark the power sector in the country.
The loyalty program rewards Star Customers by offering a wide variety of discounts for making timely and full bill payments every month. The program is designed to keep in view various needs and essentials for today’s customer. From lifestyle to healthcare, food and entertainment, the program covers rounded aspects of customer’s day to day life and has something for everyone.
Eligible customers will be able to access these discounts through their KE Live App. While terms and conditions may apply for individual offerings, most of the discounts available on the app will be renewed every month allowing reuse throughout the year. The eligibility criterion focuses on consistent bill payments regardless of billing amount. This decision was taken to encourage other customers to prioritize KE bill payments and become eligible as well.
Speaking on the program’s launch, Spokesperson K-Electric Ovais Munshi, shared, “. We take pride in being the first in the power sector to launch a loyalty program to connect with our customers. Our initiative is embedded in a philosophy of empowering our customers and encouraging a culture of regular and timely bill payment. The available offers will encourage them to maintain track of bill payments and gain more value through access to discounted healthcare, fitness, and even travel. Pakistan’s power sector operates in a regulated environment and distribution companies cannot influence the rate of electricity charged to customers. Hence, we will keep on identifying new opportunities to engage our customers and deepen our relationship, and hope that it sets a precedent for other companies in the power sector to follow as well.”
Such projects reflect the ingenuity of KE as a privatized utility, which is using its established digital footprint and brand reputation to extend new facilities to customers. Two-thirds of the company’s customer base is digitally connected and uses digital methods to pay their utility bills as well. The company’s forward-looking investment plan also earmarks a significant budget for technological and digitization upgrades, aimed at offering customers a seamless experience.
